Restaurant Water Intake Calculator — How It Works

Estimates the water content of a food item from its weight and approximate water percentage.

How it works

  1. Enter the weight of the food item, in grams.
  2. Enter its approximate water content as a percentage.
  3. The tool multiplies the weight by the water percentage to estimate the water content in milliliters.

Formula

Water content (mL) = Food weight (g) × (Water % ÷ 100)

Example

200 g of food that’s 85% water contains about 170 mL of water.

Notes

Many fruits and vegetables are 80-95% water, cooked grains and meats are typically 60-75%, and dry snacks are often under 10%. Use a food composition database for precise values — this is a quick estimate for tracking hydration from food.
