Mode Calculator — How It Works

The mode is the value (or values) that appear most often in a data set — useful for understanding the most “popular” or common result.

How it’s calculated

Count how many times each value appears. The value(s) with the highest count are the mode. If every value appears exactly once, there’s no mode.

Example

Numbers: 2, 4, 4, 6, 8, 4, 10
4 appears 3 times — more than any other value.
Mode = 4

Multiple modes

A data set can have more than one mode (this is called “multimodal”) if two or more values tie for the highest frequency.
