High School Screen Time Calculator — How It Works

Tracks remaining screen time for the day based on a daily limit and time already used.

How it works

  1. Enter the daily screen time limit, in minutes.
  2. Enter how many minutes of screen time have already been used today.
  3. The tool subtracts the used time from the limit to show how much screen time remains, and shows what the weekly total would be at that daily limit.

Formula

Remaining today = Daily limit − Used today
Weekly total = Daily limit × 7

Example

With a 120-minute daily limit and 45 minutes already used, 75 minutes remain for the rest of the day. At a 120-minute daily limit, the weekly total would be 840 minutes (14 hours).

Why this matters

Tracking screen time against a daily budget helps families set consistent expectations and avoid last-minute arguments about “just five more minutes.”
