Formula

Monthly value = Weight (lbs) × Value per lb
Yearly value = Monthly value × 12
CO₂ saved ≈ Weight (lbs) × 3 (lbs CO₂ avoided per lb recycled, per month)

Example

20 lbs of recyclable material per month at $0.10/lb is worth $2/month ($24/year), and avoids roughly 60 lbs of CO₂ per month.
