Blog CPA Calculator — How It Works

CPA (cost per acquisition) tells you how much you’re paying, on average, for each conversion — a sale, sign-up, lead, or download — from blog traffic and content campaigns. Try the Blog CPA Calculator — instant results, no sign-up.

The formula

CPA = Total ad spend ÷ Conversions

Divide your total spend by the number of conversions to get your average cost per acquisition.

Example

Say you spent $2,000 and got 50 conversions from your blog campaign:

CPA = $2,000 ÷ 50 = $40.00

Each conversion cost you $40 on average.

Why CPA matters

  • Profitability check — compare CPA against your average order value or customer lifetime value. If CPA is higher than what a customer is worth, the campaign is losing money.
  • Channel comparison — find out which campaigns or platforms bring in the cheapest conversions.
  • Budget forecasting — estimate how many conversions a given budget will produce.

FAQ

What counts as a “conversion”?

Whatever action matters most for the campaign — a purchase, a form submission, an app install, a booking, etc. Define it consistently so your CPA numbers are comparable over time.
